Install Vybe on Android

Vybe is not on the Play Store yet, so this is a direct download. The checksum below is there so you can confirm you got the file we published.

Installing it

Android will warn you before installing an app from outside the Play Store. That warning is correct and you should read it — here is what it means and what to expect.

1. Download the APK using the button above. Your browser may ask you to confirm the download; that is normal for an installer.
2. Open the downloaded file. Android will say your browser is not allowed to install apps, and offer a settings screen.
3. Allow this once. Turn on "Allow from this source" for the browser you used. You can turn it back off afterwards — the app stays installed.
4. Install, then open Vybe. You will be asked for a phone number and email address, and both are verified before your account is created.

What the app asks for

Every permission is requested when the feature needs it, not at install, and each one is optional except where the feature cannot work without it.

Camera

Taking a profile photo and the live capture for verification.

Photos

Choosing an existing picture for your profile.

Microphone

Voice and video calls, once you have matched.

Location

Distance and nearby events. A city alone is enough; precise location is a switch you control.

Notifications

Messages, matches and event reminders.

iPhone

Not yet. Vybe for iOS is built but has no App Store listing, and we would rather say so than put up a link that goes nowhere. When it is live, it will be on this page.
